Stop. Smell the roses & pick some flowers. When it comes time to assemble your floral design, take these cues on color combos & flower specifics from our own April Zimmerman, owner of April's Floral Design.- Fushia, orange and lime green (will be very popular for summer 2009). Flowers that can be used are roses, ranuculus, and button mums.
- Fushia, pink & white. Star gazer lilies are great for this color combination, but you can also use roses or hydrangea for the pink & white.
- Fall weddings are beautiful in orange, burgundy and mustard yellow. Calla lilies, roses, and dahlias all come in beautiful deep colors. You can choose to go with a single color in multiple flower types, use multiple flower types in the same color family, OR just mix it all up!
- Lime green, teal, and white. Although you will not find flowers in teal, you will find many flowers in lime. Look for cymbidium orchids, lisanthius, and button mums when searching for green. You can pair the green and white flowers with teal ribbon and linens to complete the color scheme.
- Another popular color combo is chocolate and champagne with touches of pink or lavender (use hydrangea, roses or sweet pea). Cream roses are also a compliment to chocolate and champagne.
- Lastly, purple and lime green are pretty. The iris comes in a beautiful deep purple. Get your lime green from Belles of Ireland, cymbidium orchids, or hydrangea.
